Villa Mazza di Sciacca 1, Scopello, Sicily

Situated just 1 kilometre and a 20 mins walk (uphill) from the charming and ancient village of Scopello, this pretty single story stone villa sits amidst its own generous plot of land, one of 3 villas built on a promontory, overlooking the sea with wonderful views of the rocky coastline sweeping round the Zingaro nature reserve to distant Son Vito de Capo. A mixture of pink oleanders, pine trees and olive groves form a living screen giving total privacy from the beach below and a little path leads through the olive grove to a tiny private cove in amongst the rocks.  Lovely paved terraces surround the Villa with a large covered sea view dining terrace at the front and at the rear, a further sheltered and covered area is equipped with a built in barbecue and a second set of dining furniture.

The open plan living room has large french doors opening onto the sea view dining terrace so that the outside becomes a natural extension of the interior living space. Bright red sofas and a check table cloth on the huge dining table compliment the stone fireplace and timbered ceiling and infuse the room with a pleasing traditional ambience.  Through an archway, the large kitchen is furnished with a mixture of free standing pine and painted units, table and chairs and is equipped with a full cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, and washing machine and has its own  door to the dining terrace.

The 4 bedrooms two double, one single and one twin bedroom, with space for a 3rd bed if required - lead from a corridor off the living room where there is also a nicely tiled shower room.  To visit the second shower room, a short trip across the living room is required.

Nearby, the lovely little medieval village of Scopello has a  sprinkling of pizzerias and typical trattoria as well as a baker , this Villa provides a peaceful haven from which to explore the north west of the Island. The footpaths of the Zingaro nature reserve begin approx 3 kms away; the famous Tonnera de Scopello (location for a scene from Oceans 11 and home to Gavin Maxwell for a few years) is close by; the picturesque harbour and long sandy beach at Castellemare Del Golfo is just 10 kms away; 20kms brings you to the beautifully preserved Doric temple at Segestre; the dramatic medieval hilltop town of Erice and the glorious shallow sands of San Vito de Capo are a 50 kms drive; Palermo with its lovely Baroque architecture and botanical gardens are 70 kms trip; the ancient temples at Selanunte are 90kms away. and the list goes on! If you enjoy exploring then you certainly won't be lost for choice, but equally for those who are happy to swim, read, walk and generally unwind then you won't be disappointed by the location of this lovely Villa and its sea views.

Please note: 7  hours of air conditioning per day is included in the accommodation price,  extra hours can be paid for locally, if required.

A damage deposit of 300€ is payable to our agent on arrival which will be returned in full on departure less any deductions, if applicable.
