Achilles Apartments, Kalamaki, Crete

Set back above the coast road on a small private hill with lawned gardens to the rear, these two individual properties, with a total of three 3 bedroom apartments, one 2 bedroom apartment and three 1 bedroom apartments share their own 14 metre fan shaped swimming pool and enjoy an enviable position and superb seaviews. With the sandy beach of Kalamaki no more than 300 metres away and a number of nearby tavernas and small supermarkets, the situation couldn't be more convenient and car hire, although useful, is certainly not essential.

We have featured these properties in our programme almost since the conception of Freelance Holidays in 1984 and over the years they have become firm favourites of many of our customers. They are owned by Achilles and Manolis, two brothers from a wealthy and distinguished Chania family. Pavlos, Achilles son, who was not much more than a boy when we first met is now a medical practitioner and is following the family tradition of looking after our guests and keeping the apartment's facilities right up to date. Meanwhile, his father and uncle are enjoying a well earned retirement .

Some traffic noise is audible from the coast road.

Achilles Apt 4, 1 bedroom

This ground floor apartment has  recently been given a completely up to date makeover so that it now offers well laid out  accommodation for 2 with a sofa bed in the living area which converts to a double bed, for extra guests. The open plan kitchen and living room has double glazed patio doors leading out to the spacious terrace, with sea views. The large double bedroom has a beautiful walk in dressing room where the washing machine is hidden and an ensuite shower room.  Patio doors from this bedroom also lead onto the front terrace.
