Ca'n Deia, Puerto Pollenca, Mallorca ( Majorca )
Situated on the very edge of Puerto Pollenca, Ca'n Deia is just a 15 mins stroll from the attractive Plaza Major with its tempting choice of restaurants and bars and just a few steps further from the sea front and the Pine Walk. This charming and surprisingly private little villa sits quietly towards the end of a lane surrounded by orchards and farm land.
With awe inspiring views of the rugged Formentor peninsula, the villa is set back and screened from the lane by its own small grove of fig trees. A cool covered veranda hidden beneath great swathes of bougainvillaea leads to the main entrance door. The spacious open plan living room is attractively furnished in country cottage style with beamed ceiling and a dresser displaying colourful ceramic plates and other ornamental curiosities. There's an open fireplace in one corner, with a cosy sitting area and also a circular dining table and chairs. However just in case you should really feel like entertaining, there's also a huge refectory table. To one end of the living room, an archway leads to a small hallway with doors off to a small twin bedroom with fitted wardrobe and a full bathroom, traditionally tiled.
The double bedded master bedroom is hidden away in the eaves and reached via a narrow wrought iron spiral staircase from the living room. A sloping beamed ceiling and windows on two sides, with dramatic views of the mountains seemingly almost close enough to touch, add more than a touch of romance and certainly compensate for the slightly convoluted route to the bathroom..jpg)
Back in the living room, an archway to the side of a tiled breakfast bar leads into the kitchen, with a large fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave and cooker.
Doors from the kitchen lead to covered terraces to the rear of the house overlooking the 8 metre swimming pool. One of these terraces also contains a smart brick built barbecue complete with tiled work surface and a convenient sink unit. Both terraces are amply provided with patio furniture and offer wonderful tranquil views of the surrounding countryside and rugged mountains, giving the distinct impression that you are considerably further from civilisation than just a 15 minute walk ...
There is a TV (local channels only) and DVD player in the living room.
The pool has a minimum depth of 1.6m.
