Crete Rental Price includes : maid service, electricity, water, gas, goverment and local taxes, bed linen, bath /face towels, pool maintenance and where appropriate and the services of our local agents and resort representatives

Crete Rental Price does not include: Flights, holiday insurance, car hire, transfers, etc. The cost of logs is not included and in some properties there is a charge for central heating/Air-conditioning or the use of electric/gas fires. N.B. All clients should take their own beach towels, as these are not included.

Crete Laundry & Maid Service: In all our villas and apartments, clean bed linen and bathroom towels are provided and will be changed a minimum of once every 7 days. Unless otherwise mentioned in the description, maid service in Crete & Mallorca is provided twice per week i.e., on the day of arrival, once during each week of your stay and at the end of each week of your stay. In Sardinia , maid service is only provided once per week and properties are cleaned on arrival and at the end of each week of your stay. We arrange maid service in order to ensure that our properties are kept in good order throughout the season and the maid will sweep, dust and make beds but will not normally do the washing up. There are certain properties in Crete where daily maid service is provided except for Sundays and public holidays. In Sardinia and elsewhere, extra maid service can often be arranged and paid for locally if required. If you have any questions concerning maid service, please mention this at the time of booking and we will be happy to explain. Our agents and villa owners do their best to employ experienced conscientious maids, but as it is not possible for them to personally supervise their work, we do ask you to contact them immediately if you feel that the service is lacking in any way.

Crete Starter Grocery Hampers: When you first arrive at your villa or apartment it's rather nice to relax over a cup of tea or glass of wine rather than immediately think about shopping. With this in mind, we will be happy to supply a starter grocery pack delivered to your accommodation prior to your arrival. The grocery pack, will include the following basic provisions, but 'extra items' will be included if costs allow: Eggs, bread, jam or marmalade, sugar, milk, a bottle of wine, fresh fruit, margarine, matches, toilet rolls and washing up liquid. Our grocery packs are provided 'at cost' purely as a service but please bear in mind the cost does include a small cost for delivery and unfortunately as its pre-packed we are unable to customise its contents.

Crete Basic Supplies: If you have not ordered a Grocery Pack we advise you to pack, or buy en route to your accommodation basic supplies such as washing up liquid, a washing up cloth, dishwasher tablets (if there is one available), oil, salt and pepper. Villa maids will normally clear all items left by previous clients.

Crete Accommodation Descriptions: The villas, apartments and hotels which are described on our web site have all been personally visited by us and the descriptions and information contained herein are given in good faith. However, as space is limited, individual descriptions cannot always be as detailed as we would like. Therefore, should you have any questions concerning particular facilities, or require additional information, please do mention this to us, so that we can ensure your choice of accommodation is right for you. The following 'definitions' may be of assistance:

Bedrooms : A twin bedroom will have 2 single beds and a double bedroom, 1 double bed. Extra single folding/ camp beds can sometimes be added at a charge of £45 per bed per week, but please bear in mind this will reduce floor and wardrobe space. Cots can also be provided at a cost of £20 per week. In Italy and increasingly elsewhere a double bed may often mean a matrimonial bed, consisting of two single mattresses on one frame and which can be made up with single or double sheets.

Bathrooms : Always contain a bath, shower attachment, WC and wash basin.

Shower rooms : Always contain a shower, WC and wash hand basin.

Kitchens : All contain sinks, refrigerators or fridge freezers, adequate crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils for the number of persons, the property accommodates. In Mallorca , nearly all properties have cookers with ovens whilst in Crete & Sardinia some only have 2 or 3 ring, gas or electric hobs and hence, such cooking facilities are specifically mentioned. Kitchens may sometimes be part of an open plan living area and we have endeavoured to make this clear in individual descriptions.

Kitchenettes: Although containing all the equipment specified above, tend to be smaller and are often part of an open plan living area.

Patio Furniture : All properties will have sufficient patio furniture for the number of people accommodated and many will also have deckchairs or sun-loungers, which are also available in some properties in Crete . As patio furniture is particularly subject to wear and tear, clients are asked to report any breakages immediately to our agents so the future occupants are not inconvenienced.

Televisions : A number of our properties have televisions, many of which will only receive local channels, plus sometimes CNN News. Some of our properties do however have Satellite TV and we have endeavoured to mention this in the individual descriptions.

Crete Quiet Country life: In the villages and rural areas of Crete, Mallorca, Sardinia and Sicily you will not generally be troubled by the noise of discos, tavernas or excessive passing traffic. However, please bear in mind that rural areas often have noises of their own. Cocks crowing, dogs barking, donkeys braying and even church bells ringing are all quite common and can start early in the morning and continue late into the evening. If you are concerned about noise levels at any of our properties please do mention this at the time of booking and we will be happy to give you our considered opinion. Do however bear in mind that life moves on and neighbours can acquire domestic animals, or even children without our knowledge! For light sleepers, earplugs are a good idea or even an extra glass of wine before retiring!

Air-Conditioning, the Environment and Your Health: Air-conditioning can be very welcome in a hot Mediterranean climate and each year, it is becoming available in more and more of our villas and apartments. Please do however read the individual property descriptions to check whether it is included in the rental price, or is payable locally. Either way, we would point out that air-conditioning uses an awful lot of electricity and in Crete for instance, there are more power cuts on hot days than cold ones! Whilst we appreciate that you will be paying for the privilege of air-conditioning, for environmental reasons and everyone's benefit, we ask that you do not set the temperature gauge below the optimum figure of 20º and ensure that all windows and doors are kept closed while it is in use. Please also ensure it is always switched off whilst the property is unoccupied. For your own health and comfort we recommend that you do not leave the air-conditioning on overnight as it can sometimes cause sore throats or even ear infections. For a good, natural night's sleep it is often better to leave a window open and catch a cooling breeze.

Crete Flights: We don't book flights but we have a webpage with further details and flight links, please click on one of following links:
Crete Flight Links, Mallorca Flight Links, Sardinia Flight Links & Sicily Flight Links

Portable fans: In all our properties without Air-conditioning you can request a portable fan for no extra charge.

Crete Local Facilities: Shops, restaurants, water sports and local transport etc are mentioned on our web site where appropriate but it is of course possible that these facilities may not be available in early/late season or may close without notice or change in some way. This information should therefore be used as a guide only. In each of our villas and apartments you will find a booklet containing useful local information which will help you to quickly find your feet.

Crete Local Agents and Representatives: We understand that your holiday is a precious time that you have taken to either explore your new surroundings or just 'chill out'. We will leave you alone to do just that from the first day, with no disturbances. However, our representatives, agents and occasionally the Villa owners themselves, who look after our properties and supervise the maids, are available, should you require their help or assistance. In each accommodation you will find a very informative guide to the particular property and its location. You will also be given a telephone number, available 24 hours a day,7 days a week to telephone in an emergency.

Occupying and Vacating Your Property: Your accommodation will be available for occupation from 4pm onwards on our normal changeover day. Wherever possible we endeavour to make properties available sooner for clients arriving on earlier flights on the understanding that it may not always be fully prepared. Please note that we require guests to vacate their accommodation by 10am on the day of departure, to facilitate cleaning in readiness for new arrivals.
