Achilles and Terpsichori Apartments, Kalamaki, Crete

Set back above the coast road on a small private hill with lawned gardens to the rear, these two individual properties, with a total of three 3 bedroom apartments, one 2 bedroom apartment and three 1 bedroom apartments share their own 14 metre fan shaped swimming pool and enjoy an enviable position and superb seaviews. With the sandy beach of Kalamaki no more than 300 metres away and a number of nearby tavernas and small supermarkets, the situation couldn't be more convenient and car hire, although useful, is certainly not essential.

We have featured these properties in our programme almost since the conception of Freelance Holidays in 1984 and over the years they have become firm favourites of many of our customers. They are owned by Achilles and Manolis, two brothers from a wealthy and distinguished Chania family. Pavlos, Achilles son, who was not much more than a boy when we first met is now a medical practitioner and is following the family tradition of looking after our guests and keeping the apartment's facilities right up to date. Meanwhile, his father and uncle are enjoying a well earned retirement .

Some traffic noise is audible from the coast road.

Terpsichori Villa, 3 bedrooms

Named after one of the many daughters of Zeus from Greek mythology, this large family villa has been very well furnished and equipped.

From the driveway below the villa, stairs with wrought iron balustrades lead up to a large terrace facing west with simply splendid seaviews. From the terrace, the main entrance door and patio doors lead into the spacious and comfortable  open plan living room/dining room. At the far end, a breakfast bar separates it from the fitted kitchen with electric cooker, fridge freezer, etc. A second sea view  terrace furnished with dining furniture  and  a purpose built barbecue leads from the kitchen.

To the rear of the villa, the 3 bedrooms each have their own door to the east terrace and lawned gardens, where you can enjoy early morning tea in the sunshine. The twin bedroom and the bedroom with bunk beds, share a shower room, whilst the master bedroom has a double bed and its own en-suite bathroom, which also contains a washing machine.
