Villa Vallia, Kalamaki, Crete

1.5km or just a few minutes by car from popular Kalamaki beach and nestled in the olive groves just below the village of Galatas this neo-classical villa has been tastefully designed by one of Chania's best known interior decorators (responsible for the interiors of four other very popular Freelance villas). Without one forfeiting the other, elegance and comfort have been blended throughout Villa Vallia's spacious accommodation.

Designed with easy living in mind and for a relaxing holiday, the living space is open plan and on different levels with the lounge area two steps down (parents of small children, please take note) and furnished with comfortable sofas, satellite TV, DVD player and stereo system. Patio doors open onto the large covered terrace that extends on 2 sides of the Villa. On the higher level, the kitchen is exceptionally well equipped with oven and four ring hob, large fridge freezer, dishwasher and espresso machine. The washing machine is stowed in a storeroom off the hallway. A second set of patio doors make for easy access from the dining area to the covered terrace overlooking the pool with distant sea views and with a purpose built barbecue conveniently close at hand.

Emanating from an inner hallway, all three bedrooms share a spacious shower room and lovely bathroom. The delightful master bedroom has its own private covered balcony with table and chairs and views over the garden at the front of the Villa. There is a further twin and single bedroom.

Olive trees are dotted haphazardly across the pleasant lawned gardens on 3 sides of the Villa, whilst pretty flower beds and further olive trees border the 8 x 5m swimming pool at the rear.

The village of Galatas is just a few minutes walk away and conveniently close for morning trips to its superb baker. You will also find a minimarket, butcher and the frequently recommended taverna "Bigazza".

A few minutes drive to the coast, just 10 mins drive from Chania and with easy access to the national highway, Villa Vallia is well located for discovering the best of Crete.

NB As the national highway runs below the village the hum of traffic can sometimes be heard from the Villa.

All windows have mosquito nets and there is air conditioning throughout. Internet access allows you to keep in virtual touch with the rest of the world via your lap top.
