Antilia Apartments & Studios, Tavronitis, Crete
Stavros and Rena have, over the years, built up a loyal following of guests, who return again and again to the quiet hospitality they enjoy at the Antilia Apartments and we are delighted to be offering their apartments to our customers. Their group of three apartment buildings is set on an elevated piece of land overlooking the sea 800m distant. Set in beautifully laid out gardens, narrow stone paved paths wind between lawns and rose-beds to the entrance terraces of the apartments themselves where clouds of bougainvillea tumble over little terracotta tiled roofs.
The third apartment building has been built in classical style and includes a comfortable reception area on the ground floor, and storage and shower facilities available for the use of all guests; especially useful on arrival or departure day. Both the more modern apartments in this building and the more traditional apartments, finished internally with polished wood floors and timbered ceilings, are of the same high standard and all are rather better equipped than you would expect for the price, offering air conditioning in all rooms, satellite TV’s, hairdryers and use of shared washing machines.
The apartments share a lovely 20m x 8m pool, surrounded by sunbathing terraces which has a convenient Pool Bar serving drinks and snacks, run by Rena’s brother and open for most of the season.
You’ll soon find the baker, butcher and mini markets in the village of Tavronitis, 800 metres away and the pebble beach, backed by three or four tavernas which is a few steps further, remains relatively quiet even in the height of the season. If, though, you are looking for a spot of night life then Platanias, with a lively choice of shops, bars and a night club on the edge of town is just a 15 mins drive in the direction of Chania. In the other direction, the fishing village of Kolymbari at the base of the Rodopou peninsular has a further choice of excellent Tavernas
Studio
Both studios are on the ground floor and have a traditional Cretan character with polished wood floors and timbered ceilings. The double bedded studios have nicely equipped kitchenettes and full bath/shower rooms. The private terraces are furnished with table and chairs and have sea views.
Location of Antilia Studio* A
Tavronitis, Crete
30 km west of Chania, the village of Tavronitis stands at the point where the north coast road sends an exploratory spur wriggling southwards over the mountains to Paleohora. Tourism still remains pretty low key and the village retains an authentic ambience with particularly friendly shopkeepers delighted to have the opportunity to practise their English. ...More about Tavronitis >>
