Manolis House, Agia Paraskevi, Crete
At the far end of the village and with lovely sea views over the olive groves, this well furnished and designed family house stands in its own enclosed gardens with pretty flowers and a good selection of herbs, as well as shady trees and a sheltered purpose built barbecue area.
Inside, separated by the entrance hall, is a modern well equipped kitchen/dining room, plus a spacious and comfortable living room complete with a large brick fireplace and patio doors to the terrace.
At first floor level and reached by a narrow wooden staircase are two twin bedrooms with sloping pine ceilings, French windows and wonderful sea views, even from a prone position! There's a shower room off the first floor landing and a second one downstairs off the entrance hall.
One of the sofas in the living room could be used as an extra bed for a resilient child. The kitchen has a convenient window to the side that gives access to the barbecue area. To the rear of the garden is a gate with a few steps leading down into Manolis' olive grove.

Each house has a well-equipped kitchen with an electric cooker and fridge-freezer and there's an open fireplace in the living area. An innovative feature in many of the houses is full-length French windows in the first floor bedrooms, protected by wrought iron balustrades. Each house is supplied with two sunbeds and they all have fans in the bedrooms. |
